The Canadian County Juvenile Detention Center Sanctions Program, a short term-program, is housed inside the Canadian County Juvenile Detention Center. The sanctions residents are kept separated from the regular detention residents and the emphasis pf the program is different.
The sanctions program is available to Canadian County juveniles, and is a consequence for the courts to use in cases of probation violations. Our residents are all juveniles and can stay in the program for 3, 4, or 5 days per violation. The goal of this program is to deter a juvenile’s negative behavior and reinforce court ordered rules and parental authority. This short-term program is designed to impact youth immediately when their negative behavior begins; therefore, deterring them from progressing further into delinquent behaviors.
