Our short-term program, the Gary E. Miller Canadian County Juvenile Detention Center Sanctions Program, is contained with the Canadian County Juvenile Detention Center. Inside, the regular detention residents are kept separately from the sanctioned residents. Moreover, there is a different emphasis on this program — it serves as a consequence for courts to use if there is a violation of probation.

Our juvenile residents can stay for as long as 5 days per violation within the program. Its goal is to stop negative behavior in juveniles while reinforcing paternal authority and court-ordered rules. Moreover, the sanctions program is designed to have an immediate impact on youth, deterring them from more negative behaviors.
